Those two things should have nothing in common, right?
And yet, built into the 2008 law was a provision that basically protected the gun rights of every American from an executive mandate taking away their weapons. From CNN:
It was intended as a way to keep the NRA out of the fight over the law, placating them that nobody would take away guns. Why that mattered, I'll never know.
But I digress, this may come back to bite liberals. Especially since the President, according to the VP, is planning just such a move.
