President Obama yesterday said that he was going to turn his attention to Climate Change.
Because it's serious.
And totally real.
Because the Antarctic ice is melting and polar bears are drowning.
What's that? Record grown you say?
From the WSJ:
Northward winds are driving the record growth of winter sea ice around Antarctica, which stands in contrast to the extensive melting of the Arctic sea ice in recent years, scientists reported Sunday.
Their new research, based on 19 years of daily ice-motion measurements recorded by four satellites of the U.S. Defense Meteorological Satellite Program, highlights how geography, weather and climate patterns are affecting the planet's polar regions in different ways.
In other words, the world is merely going through one of the changes that it does regularly. Massive rainfall and subsequent droughts wiped out the Mayans. One of any number of ecological shifts destroyed the dinosaurs.
The world is big, flexible and extremely unpredictable.
