Racine Co. Residents Accuse Recall Vos Campaign of Forging their Signatures

Three Racine County residents have accused the Recall Vos campaign of forging their signatures on petitions to remove the Wisconsin Assembly Speaker from office. All three have sworn affidavits with the Racine County District Attorney's Office, which has launched a criminal investigation into Recall Vos for suspected identity theft and election fraud.

Sam Wahlen, an Army veteran and National Guard member, told "The Dan O'Donnell Show" Tuesday that he did not sign the petiton to recall Vos, yet his name and alleged signature appeared on one of the petitions.

"That's not your signature?" O'Donnell asked.

"Not even close," Wahlen responded, adding that whoever forged his signature listed his home address as being Sturtevant when he actually resides in Yorkville.

After Wahlen detailed his accusations on "The Dan O'Donnell Show" Tuesday morning, Philip Hein confirmed that both his signature and that of his wife were forged as well.

"My wife and I are the first two signatures at the top of page 79," he explained. "My name is spelled incorrectly (I spell it with one L), and both of our addresses are incorrect."

Whoever signed for the Heins listed them as living at two separate addresses on the same street when they do in fact live together.

The Racine County District Attorney's Office confirmed that it has launched an investigation into similar claims of forged signatures and is referring the complaints to relevant law enforcement agencies for investigation and has signaled that it would file criminal charges if the evidence supports them.
